Everest (Virtual): To cumulatively climb 8848m in one ride (indoors on a trainer). ✅
After working on my comfort on the bike I decided I take on the most “Seemingly” pointless challenges in ultra cycling the Virtual Everest.
This was a test of body, mind, bike fit and nutrition.
Wile planning my attempt In occurred to me to an ask the local company No Nonsense Nutrition @nnfuel for there carb mix to provide the backbone of my on bike fuel, and truly test there product. From Earlier tests I knew it tasted great and sat well in my stomach. Long days in the saddle have tough me that you don’t truly know anything works until at least 12hrs deep into your day. This was its opportunity to shine.
The carb mix worked perfectly, I used 100g mixed 950ml water per lap of Alpe Du Zwift (1hr 20mins) and complemented with nuts, cliff bars and Swiss cheese/salami sandwiches. Although tired with worn out legs I finished feeling good without any issues, a sensible meal and I was content. No crazy post ride binge, or light headedness from the dreaded bonks. I will certainly be using the product again for training future endeavours. Exclusive Promo Code coming soon for anyone wish to test themselves.
My bum was feeling great thanks to 3 pairs of @7meshinc mk3 bibs and Selle Italia SLR boost x-cross superflow saddle.
@logobeer provided extensive post recovery drinks
Thanks to @mikey_coulter for all his advice after his successful Virtual Everest earlier this winter.
